The Best GMAT Prep Apps for iOS
If you’re looking for the best GMAT prep apps to help you study while on your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod) you’ve come to the right place. We’ve taken a look at numerous GMAT specific iOS apps and here’s a list of our favorites.
We update this page on an ongoing basis- once we find an app we really like we add it. If you have one you think rocks, contact us and let us know!
Prep4 is one of the most popular GMAT apps on the iOS App Store and it’s for good reason. LTG Exam Prep has done a fantastic job at creating a well rounded GMAT study app. There’s a strong focus on studying anytime and for any length of time. Have only 10 minutes to study while on the bus? Great! Set the timer, and take a 10 minute test.
In fact, every practice session is constructed to take between 5-10 minutes – ideal for studying on the go. We can’t stress this enough – this app is fantastic at squeezing in more study time. And unlike some of the apps we’ve seen you do not need an internet connection to study.
Prep4 also also added a feature to connect with tutors from all over the world. It’s certainly more in like with a novelty feature but it may help out a few people who are looking for additional help.
All things said, there’s a reason this is a five star app. The design is fresh and in line with what we’d expect to see in an iOS 7 world. The prep material is solid and the overall app execution is superb. We highly recommend checking it out!
Here’s another highly rated GMAT prep app from the well regarded test prep experts at Veritas. Their app gives you access to all 12 Veritas Prep GMAT lessons for free. There’s more than 20 hours of high definition video instruction for you to stream or download and it’s all very good prep material.
All of the sections are nicely explained and packed with a healthy dose of information. The 12 sections cover numerous topics including; arithmetic, critical reasoning, algebra, sentence correction, geometry, reading comprehension, data sufficiency, advanced verbal strategy, statistics and combinatorics, advanced word problems, and AWA & Integrated Reasoning.
We’ll add, this isn’t a practice app. True to it’s name, Complete GMAT Video Course is a reference app that goes over all the GMAT testing topics. Example test questions are gone over in the videos but you won’t actually have a chance to quiz yourself here. Regardless, it’s impressive that Veritas Prep has opted to make the videos free and it’s certainly worth your time to take a look. You never know what you can learn.
Here’s one of our favorite apps to improve your basic math skills. Mental Math cards is designed to help people improve their arithmetic abilities through easy to remember (and use) tips, practice question sets, and an addictive game.
This isn’t a GMAT focused app, and this tips themselves aren’t anything too special but the timed mathematics question sets are fantastic practice to get your brain geared and ready for solving math problems.
Solving math problems quicker and more accurately is key to any standardized test where time is a factor. And if you’re looking to do well on the GMAT you certainly know how important it is to get comfortable with math.
Mental Math Cards supports 1 by 1, 2 by 1, 2 by 2, and 3 by 3 digital problems. So it’s great practice for everyone – from beginners to more advanced users looking to sharpen their quantitative skills. It’s a free app on the app store, and it’s certainly worth adding to your GMAT practice material.
